Why Dr. Chau Phan started Humaniti Beauty

Although Dr. Chau Phan started out as a researcher, she eventually became an entrepreneur since 2012. Currently, she’s running multiple companies including a radiology and virtual assistant staffing company, a pharmacy, and a medical billing company. Throughout her entrepreneurial journey, she learned valuable lessons that she wishes to impart onto the younger generations; therefore, she started Humaniti Beauty in 2021. Humaniti Beauty is a public non-profit organization 501(c)(3) with a mission to inspire young girls and women to be financially independent while exploring their unique inner beauty. The “I” stands for Independent, Inspiring Individual who can make an Impact for humanity.

The money we raise will go towards projects that help young girls and women all over the world to be more financially independent. We will work with other non-profits, including Rotary, to achieve this goal.

Chau’s Journey into Cosmetics

Chau is, and always has been, very low maintenance with respect to her own skincare regimen. However, when she turned 30 years old, she became interested in preventing wrinkles. She was overwhelmed by all the products on the market and the messages in the media. At the cusp of ordering a supermodel-sponsored anti-aging product, Chau stopped and realized, “I’m a researcher. I’m a pharmacist. I can research the best ingredients for my own skin.”

However, as anyone who has shopped for skincare products may realize, finding products that contain all of the ingredients you want is difficult. To circumvent this problem, Chau decided to put her pharmacist and research skills to work and put all the ingredients she wanted in one bottle.

Chau’s Journey into Dermatology

Three months after Chau’s son was born, he developed severe eczema. As a mother, Chau agonized over her son’s pain and took many measures to attempt to soothe his condition. She made sure he wore mittens, so his scratching wouldn’t further irritate his condition. She carefully chose toys that would not puncture his skin, gave him nightly oatmeal baths, and examined the ingredients of every product her son used. While these measures may seem drastic to some, for those living with eczema or who know someone with eczema, this is a daily reality.

Chau’s struggles with managing her son’s condition inspired her to research and compound eczema treatments. Her ultimate goal is to cure her son’s eczema.

Chau’s desire to share her abilities and knowledge of cosmetics and dermatologic treatments with others inspired her to start Humaniti Beauty.

Chau's Philosophy of Skincare

Chau’s background in science-based healthcare solutions, her personal experience with the effects of aging on the skin, and her efforts to eradicate her son’s eczema have taught her that beautiful skin is the result of healthy living. She believes that, if we focus first on being healthy about what we put on and in our body and how we treat our body, our skin will reflect a healthy beauty. This is why she has named her skin-care company, Humaniti Beauty.
